ecclesia

i think this is the most beautiful, most accurate description of very simple truths i've ever come across.  It comes from the "What We Believe" section from a church out here in LA called Ecclesia (who'da thought, go figure).

On Jesus:
"[Jesus] lived a sinless life and voluntarily paid for the sins of men and women by dying on the cross as their substitute—satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone [...] He ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and humankind, continually makes intercession for His own."

On the Holy Spirit:
"[...] Human nature is corrupted, and all people are thus unable to merit the favor of God; therefore, every person needs regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit."

On Salvation:
"...God credits His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justifies them in His sight. It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. This security is not based upon any kind of human merit."
